Make a Difference at Home
Operation Secret Santa began with one simple idea: no child should wake up on Christmas morning without feeling seen, valued, and cared for. What started as a small, anonymous effort to deliver gifts to a handful of families in Lexington has grown—year after year—into a community-powered movement serving thousands across Central Kentucky.
In that first year, “Secret Santa” was nothing more than a determined Mom with a car full of gifts, a short list of families in need, and a commitment to restoring joy where it was slipping through the cracks. As word spread, volunteers stepped in, local partners offered support, our Operation Secret Santa Board was formed, and the quiet kindness of one person transformed into a full-scale network of generosity.
Today, Operation Secret Santa is a barrier-free, volunteer-driven 501c3 nonprofit that meets families exactly where they are—literally, on their doorsteps. With a focus on dignity, access, and community connection, we now serve more than 7,000 children annually, providing gifts, bikes, food boxes, and Christmas magic without applications, paperwork, or judgment.
What has remained unchanged is our heart:
A promise to keep showing up, quietly and powerfully, for our neighbors.
